For over thirty years, Mr. Madden has specialized in the representation of radio and television station owners in all aspects of regulatory matters before the FCC and in numerous transactions involving the purchase and sale of broadcast properties. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Madden worked in the Broadcast Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission. From 1975-1992, he was an associate and later a partner at the firm of Cohn & Marks in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Madden has participated on panels regarding regulatory and business issues at many communications industry conventions. He served as co-chair of the Federal Communications Bar Association's FCC Enforcement Practice Committee from 2004 - 2005. Mr. Madden has also been a member of the FCBA's Committee on Professional Responsibility, the Mass Media Practice Committee, and the Transactional Practice Committee.
From 1989-1992, Mr. Madden was the President of the Capitol Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF). In 1993, he was named the International “Volunteer of the Year” of JDRF. Mr. Madden was also the Conference Chairman of JDRF’s 25th Anniversary International Conference, held in Washington, D.C. in 1995. Mr. Madden is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Round House Theatre in Bethesda, Maryland, and serves on the Finance Committee.
