The firm’s founder, and its Manager from 1982 until June 2000, Mr. Leventhal has devoted forty years to the practice of communications and intellectual property law and has represented numerous clients – industry leaders as well as start-up companies – in virtually every facet of the broadcast, telecom/common carrier, wireless, satellite and international communications fields. In addition, he has advised numerous media companies on copyright, trademark and Internet related matters. He has appeared on numerous domestic and international industry panels on broadcast, satellite, common carrier, copyright and other issues.
His active law practice has brought Mr. Leventhal before various state and federal courts, both at the district and appellate level, as well as numerous federal, state, and international agencies including the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the U.S. Copyright Office, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Election Commission, the United States Trade Representative, the U.S. Departments of Justice, State and Commerce, various state public service commissions, and the International Telecommunication Union.
He has actively represented firm clients before the Congress in connection with a host of international and domestic telecommunications and proprietary rights legislation. In addition, he served as a U.S. Delegate to the International Telecommunication Union World Telecommunications Policy Forum, Geneva, 1996, was selected for the International Who’s Who of Telecommunications Lawyers for every year since 2001 and, in addition, the 2003, 2004 and 2005 International Who's Who of Business Lawyers.
Mr. Leventhal served in the U.S. Army Reserve 1968-1974.
