Mr. Sova’s practice focuses on business and regulatory issues facing television and radio licensees.  Mr. Sova has represented numerous clients in the acquisition and sale of radio and television stations, and of other properties including wireless and paging companies, and an Internet service provider.  Mr. Sova is experienced in all aspects of purchase, sale, and merger transactions, including negotiating deal terms, drafting purchase, sale, exchange, and option agreements and all documents ancillary to such transactions, preparing and filing FCC applications, and closing transactions.  Mr. Sova has negotiated employment and talent contracts, programming agreements, sports rights agreements, real property leases and other contracts.  In addition, he has written and filed comments on behalf of numerous clients in FCC rulemaking proceedings on topics such as digital audio broadcasting and low power FM, and has experience preparing and filing FCC applications, responding to FCC inquiries and notices, and preparing pleadings in matters before the FCC.

Prior to joining LS&L, Mr. Sova worked for eight years at Nextel Communications, Inc. where he analyzed revenue and operating trends, and where, as a manager in the corporate strategy department, he identified and evaluated potential acquisitions for the company and negotiated the terms of, and drafted agreements to accomplish, mergers and acquisitions of numerous wireless companies.

While in law school at Rutgers University, Mr. Sova was the recipient of the Professor Allan Axelrod Award given for greatest scholastic achievement in the area of Commercial Law.  He currently serves as a mentor to undergraduate students at Seton Hall University who are interested in pursuing legal careers.
