Ms. Buckman’s practice focuses on regulatory and business issues facing companies in the broadcast industry. She has represented clients involved in all facets of the broadcast industry, including large publicly-traded broadcast companies, group owners, small radio and television licensees, a national radio network, investment companies, and on-air talent. Ms. Buckman has represented numerous broadcast clients in the acquisition and sale of broadcast properties and has experience with all aspects of purchase and sale transactions. She has also drafted and negotiated employment and talent contracts, syndication and programming agreements, sports rights agreements with numerous major league sports teams, and other business documents for radio and television station owners and networks. Ms. Buckman has handled administrative and appellate litigation for a variety of clients. In addition, she has served as a speaker at many broadcast association conventions, and conducted FCC compliance seminars for numerous broadcasters.
Ms. Buckman is currently a member of the Executive Committee of The Federal Communications Bar Association and has served as a Trustee of the Federal Communications Bar Association Foundation, Vice President-Development of the D.C. Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television, and co-chair of the D.C. Women’s Bar Association Communications Law Forum.
Ms. Buckman joined the firm after practicing for four years with the Washington, D.C. law firm Crowell & Moring. While at NYU Law School, she served as an Articles Editor of the Annual Survey of American Law and authored an article for the Annual Survey entitled “Antitrust Law.”
